ahhhhh... the cool air killing my lazy lungs....lol

I did the run1/walk1 and was so grateful it was a short session tonight... I will have to practice breathing or something... so next week will be better.... I will sleep soundly tonight...

The Beginning... day one of 'run' training...

Just 'do' it.. will be todays mantra... (or every training days ha ha)

I can do IT, yes I can!
I can do it, yes I CAN!!!!!   I should bring pompoms.. maybe next week lol

Although todays session will be slow going, cuz it's cold.. ok not compared to what we had for winter, still it's not summer weather, I'm old, ok not THAT old - not really, just out of shape - and I'm unsure of how I will do, and yet I will do it.

Should I walk/walk  - as my ensure person wants to do, or challenge myself to run1/walk 1 --

I'll let you know when I get back .... time for layers, and mittens and a smile....  :-)

Kick-Off

85 women... all ages with varying degrees of excitement and nervousness, arrived at the YWCA by 1pm. We signed our lives away, received our Y passes, goody bag with swim cap (mine is pink.. me in pink--yup-- that will make some people smile)  and signed up for Sunday morning swims.... for me 9:15am, so I will still get to sleep in a little bit...whew...

Michelle and Maryann, the Team leaders and ALLLLLL the volunteers helped us feel welcome and provided some good giggles too. Embarrassing stories and Laughter are always a good thing...

This is going to be fun, and challenging and I have no doubt rewarding on so many levels....

Training starts tomorrow -- March 24th

New Adventure

On March 23, 2014, I will be meeting a group of women who will be experiencing  my new adventure with them. They don't know me, I don't know them, and yet we'll be sharing this Journey together.

For the next 10weeks, 85 women will begin a training program that in the end we all will be participating in a triathlon.  At my age and current physical abilities this seems daunting, scary and yet exciting.  I will meet, new, interesting women of all shapes, sizes and age groups (21-56) and we will all have the same goal. Triathlon!

Participating in a triathlon has been on my to-do list for awhile now, yet finding motivation to actually make it happen, well that's been on the list too.

That is why I was so excited to read of last years event in Bridges May 2013, and thought to myself, I can do this. I cut out the article and put it on my fridge. In January 2014, when the Leisure Guide came out and there was an  ad for Just Tri It, well there was no saying no.

I asked and the universe answered ... :-)  so follow me (us) as we experience the trials of training 3x a week for 10weeks and then on June 1, come watch us succeed in completing this experience... !
